Ex-post evaluation of Cohesion Policy programmes 2007-2013 - Work Package Nine: Culture and Tourism
This evaluation study is part of a comprehensive programme of ex post evaluations of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Cohesion Fund (CF) interventions financed over the 2007-2013 programming period. The evaluation programme is structured into 14 thematic work-packages and takes place in the context of the Commission’s efforts to fulfil commitments in terms of transparency and accountability and to foster evidence-based and result-oriented policy-making. The specific objective of Work Package Nine is to perform an ex-post assessment of the effectiveness and overall impact of the ERDF interventions in the field of culture and tourism. In particular, this evaluation is committed to provide an overview of the nature of co-financed investments in the tourism and culture sector, a clear picture of the rationale underlying these investments as well as an assessment of the actual contribution of ERDF support to deliver Cohesion policy objectives in terms of growth and jobs.
The evaluation is carried out by a consortium led by IRS (Istituto per la Ricerca Sociale) and including CSIL and other two partners: CISET (International Centre for Studies on Tourism Economics) and BOP Consulting. In the framework of this evaluation, CSIL experts are specifically in charge to carry out an on-line survey to Managing Authorities of the ERDF co-funded operational programmes investing more than €15m ERDF in support to culture and tourism activities. The survey is expected to be carried out in November, with results available in December.
