Published from 2017 to 2019, CSIL report on the“Financial Analysis of 100 Major Lighting Manufacturers Worldwide” provides an assessment of trends and structural characteristics of the lighting industry. It draws from the analysis of balance sheets of around 800 companies based worldwide. The sample includes manufacturers of lighting fixtures (688 players), lighting components (semi-finished products, lighting sources, 96 players) and lighting automotive (17 players). Amongst this sample, the report identifies the top 100 performing companies in the business (in terms of turnover, profitability and financial situation), named “best-in-class” and reported separately as big (over 50 million USD turnover) and small players.
The total sample analysed shows an average workforce of over 750 employees and an average turnover of over USD 120 million in 2017. In absolute terms: a 2017 turnover of about 97 billion USD, an EBIT of over 7 billion USD, almost half a million employees.
The study covers Europe (319 companies), Japan and South Korea (208 companies), China (150 companies), Asia Pacific (58 companies), Russia and neighbouring countries (39 companies), North and Latin America (27 companies).
The report includes a short executive summary and an Excel database of company financial data and sector average.
