Analysis of distribution channels in the private and professional furniture markets

This assignment entails the development of a detailed database covering the main distribution channels for furniture products, analysing the evolution of their share on the market over the last ten years for different sub-segments: residential, office, hospitality, healthcare, education. The analysis of distribution channels differentiated various segment: B2C market (specialised/non-specialised retail, e-commerce, direct sales, others) and B2B market (interior&contract, government procurement, wholesale, others).

The study was based on statistical processing of sector data,  literature and websites review and field analysis gathering 100 semi-structured interviews to retail trade operators and other relevant stakeholders active on the market. Quantitative data were presented for the 20 major markets (in Europe and globally) and detailed for ten main product groups. The methodology also included a qualitative description of factors shaping the market, including prevailing criteria in private and professional markets.
