Data on the EU textile ecosystems and its competitiveness

This study aims at developing a methodology to collect and analyse data describing the evolution and competitiveness of the EU textile ecosystems and the fashion industry. The study team has tested, discussed and validated the methodology to allow its replicability in the future. Building on intensive data collection and data processing activities, a review of the existing literature, and interviews with 26 stakeholders, the assignment also provides a comprehensive assessment of the status quo of the EU textile ecosystem by analysing its competitiveness, innovation capacity, economic relevance and evolution of the 2015-2019 period.
To describe the main transformation trends and drivers of change affecting the textile and fashion industries, quantitative data analysis is complemented by qualitative investigation and thematic case studies.
