Cost-Benefit Analysis Training course to World Bank country economists in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

CSIL has organised a 4-day training seminar on the use of Cost-Benefit Analysis for investment project appraisal. The seminar addressed World Bank country economists working in countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA). The seminar was based on an interactive approach and had the following structure:

  • for each session CSIL experts have offered a detailed presentation of the main topics, focusing on the description of the techniques available to project examiners;
  • when possible, discussants/participants (World Bank staff) have pointed out their personal experience in implementing CBA techniques;
  • three sessions were devoted to illustration and practical work on a case-study, using spread sheets.
