Valentina Downey

Valentina Downey is a product designer with a degree from the Academy of Art in Florence. She is specialized in industrial design at Milan IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) and gained a Master in Interface Design from the Domus Academy in Milan.
She has delivered lectures for the Domus Academy in Milan, La Sapienza University in Rome (2004), the European Institute of Design in Madrid (2007), the Academy of the Fine Arts of Bologna (2010) and seminar on Furniture trends in Mexico and Bangkok.
Since 2001 she has coordinated Intensive Labs for both international and multinational companies together with Patrizia Scarzella.
She was part of CSIL team as design strategic consultant for a market development projects in Bangladesh for furniture companies. She also collaborated with Bangladeshi furniture company to develop a design strategy.
She is a specialist in the design of bathroom furniture, electronic design technology, colour and texture design and has extensive experience in design laboratories (selecting, leading and working with a group of designers on a specific brief compiled to satisfy the requirements of the client company).
She has designed products for Valli Arredobagno, Gruppo Bocchiotti, Inset, Crips, Culti, TerreBlu, Fasem, Dionica, Methis-Coopsette, Gedy, Manital, Cornitec, Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati, Manifattura Tessuti Besana Spugne and Orlandi SPA.
She is a member of the Designer Department of ADI (Italian Association for Industrial Design).
