Julie Pellegrin joined CSIL in 2006. She specialises in public policy analysis in regional development and research and innovation policy and has in-depth knowledge of the EU legislative and policy framework and its delivery system. She manages complex cross-country evaluation and research studies dealing with Cohesion Policy, SME competitiveness, economic, social and territorial cohesion, and smart development (urban development and smart specialisation strategies). On several occasions, she presented the results of research and evaluation studies at the European Parliament (to committees on Budgets, Industry Research and Energy, and Regional Development).
She has research and teaching experience in European universities, including the Université Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France), Maastricht University (the Netherlands), and The University of Birmingham (UK).
Julie holds a PhD in International Political Economy from the European University Institute in Florence (Italy). She also has a Master’s in Applied Economics from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris (France).
