Franco Peracchi is a Professor Emeritus at Tor Vergata University of Rome, a Fellow of the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF), an Elected Fellow of the International Association for Applied Econometrics (IAAE), and a Fellow of the Journal of Econometrics.

He taught at UCLA, NYU, University of Udine, D’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, Bocconi University, University Carlos III of Madrid, Princeton University, and Georgetown University. His research interests include econometric theory, labour and health economics, and the economics of social security and pensions. His current research areas include cognitive decline among the elderly, distribution regression, approaches to model uncertainty, and causal inference.

He holds an MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the LSE and a PhD in Economics from Princeton University.
