EOCIC Policy briefings for ten European regions
CSIL is part of the Consortium that provided customised advice on cluster policy in support of industrial modernisation to ten regions in industrial transition, in the framework of the European Observatory for Clusters and Industrial Change (EOCIC).
The policy work aimed to define a set of actions which constitute a comprehensive strategy to foster regional economic transformation, identify collaboration and funding opportunities, and connect with other regions in local and cluster partnerships. This pilot action helped testing new approaches to industrial transition and provide the European Commission with evidence to strengthen post-2020 policies and programmes.
In particular, CSIL experts worked with to Piedmont Region (Italy) and Centre Val de Loire (France).
The policy briefing reports are now available online. They summarise the challenges of industrial transition and present the corresponding strategies in the ten selected regions. The solutions developed depend strongly on the identified challenges and cover a large part of modern cluster policy elements. The measures include, among others, the adaptation of existing clusters to counter skills challenges (Hauts-de-France) and new initiatives to support SME growth and startups (Piemonte).
