Development and Evaluation Studies
Mario Genco is a partner of CSIL since 1997. He holds a degree in nuclear engineering and has been working for several years to the process design and thermo-hydraulic models for various nuclear plants. Since 1982 he has also covered several management roles in important environmental projects. During his professional career of more than 30 years, Mario has been specializing in appraisal, planning and management of projects co-financed by the Structural Funds. He has been appointed as high professional profile advisor for several major infrastructure projects by national and international bodies, in particular for the environment and energy sectors. His experience encompasses all phases of the project management cycle: from ex-ante evaluation, feasibility studies and CBA, to operational planning, follow-up of authorizing procedures, organisations and coordination of implementation, ex-post evaluation. Since 1982 he has also covered several management roles in important environmental and energy projects (nuclear, methane, oil and hydropower plants). He is an expert in cost-benefit and risk analysis and he developed a dedicated software for running risk analysis using the Montecarlo method. He is part of the team authoring several editions of Cost-Benefit Analysis DG REGIO Guide. He has been recently involved in providing "quick appraisal" report to DG REGIO for project application under the ERDF and Cohesion Fund.
