CSIL experts visit CNAO

CSIL experts visited the National Hadrontherapy Centre for Cancer Treatment (CNAO) in Pavia (IT), which is one of the two case studies been selected in the framework of the research project "Cost/Benefit Analysis in the Research, Development and Innovation Sector", financed by the European Investment Bank.

The project is aimed at developing and testing the methodology for valuing  the net socio-economic benefits of both pure and applied research infrastructures. A first mission was organised on 10th October 2013 to discuss data needed and availability for carrying out the cost-benefit analysis of the research infrastructure. Two visits were organised by CSIL experts - on 3 and 17 December 2013 – to carry out interviews with representatives from CNAO administration, accelerator department and clinical department.
