Overview of the Operational Programmes under the ESF Regulation 1081/2006 and General Provisions of the Structural Funds 1083/2006 for the period 2007-13 (2008)

The purpose of the study is to provide an overview of the priorities and content of European Social Fund (ESF) programmes for 2007-2013. The study maps the planned ESF interventions according to: i) the ESF priorities and other thematic issues; ii) the expected contributions to Community objectives and policies, in particular the Lisbon strategy.

Technical Assistance for Development of a National Clustering Policy for Turkey (2007-2008)

The overall objective of this technical assistance is "to develop a comprehensive and visionary clustering policy that contributes to the sustainable social, environmental and economic development in Turkey". The Project includes activities for the improvement of the national capacity to develop and execute a clustering policy in Turkey; the development of the first national clustering policy in Turkey and proposed strategies for its adoption; cluster mapping and Analysis, by identifying 20 clusters to be further analysed and prioritise 10 of these clusters to prepare cluster development roadmaps. The beneficiary of this project is the Turkish Under Sectetariat for Foreign Trade (UFT).

The impact of Tourism on Coastal Areas: Regional Development Aspects (2007-2008)

The purpose is to provide the Committee on Regional Development with a critical and detailed analysis of the economic, social and environmental impact of structural fund spending on tourism projects in coastal regions. The outcomes are summarized in a handbook and an initiative report and which provide detailed analysis, policy recommendations and guidelines for decision-makers. Such analysis was to enable the committee on Regional Development to propose concrete measures concerning the orientation of policy development.

The Use of Indicators for Effective Regional Development Policies: Lessons from Country Cases (2007)

Report on incentive mechanisms used in regional development policies co-funded by different levels of government. It analyses the types of indicators used for measuring performance in co-funded regional development policies and identifies the advantages and drawbacks of different types of indicators. It also discuss the necessary conditions for implementing regional policies based on performance indicators.

Gender mainstreaming in the use of Structural Funds (2007)

The aim of the study that is to show the extent to which gender mainstreaming has been taken into account in the Structural Funds programming 2000-2006, identifying policy fields where progress has been made and where progress is slow. The study also proposes qualitative and quantitative indicators that could be used in the further monitoring and evaluation of the ERFD and the Cohesion Fund.

The impact of Trans-European Networks on cohesion and employment (2006)

The aim of this study is to assess the territorial aspects of the impacts of Trans-European Networks (TENs) in terms of employment and demographic change at different time horizons. Different sources of data and tools are used to explore the various aspects involved in the analysis and provide forecasts of the expected impacts of the TENs networks on the EU25 regions. The study was carried out taking explicitly into account the two main types of impacts expected from large transport infrastructure investments:
a) "macroeconomic" impacts, focused on direct investment impacts on GDP and employment;
b) "microeconomic" impacts explained in terms of changes of relative accessibility of regions.

Study on "Policy guidelines for regions falling under the new regional competitiveness and employment objective for the 2007 - 2013 period in the fields of the knowledge economy and the environment, in line with the Lisbon and Gothenburg objectives" (2005)

The overall aim of the study is to make clear recommendations for policy priorities for ERDF actions within each member state under the Regional competitiveness and employment priority for the period 2007-2013.
