Alessandro Sterlacchini

Alessandro Sterlacchini (MSc, University of Sussex; PhD, University of Ancona) is Professor of Applied Economics at the "G. Fuà" Faculty of Economics of the Marche Polytechnic University.

He teaches Industrial Economics and Economics of Innovation both at the graduate and post-graduate level.

His research activity has been mainly developed in the field of the Economics of Innovation, with special focus on the determinants and economic effects of R&D, knowledge and innovations.

In this connection, he carried out extensive empirical work across industries, firms and geographical areas and devoted particular attention to innovation policies.

In 2005 he coordinated a policy study on EU regions on behalf of the European Commission.
