Florio

Founder Partner

Massimo Florio is the founder of CSIL and its Honorary Chairperson.

He is a Professor of Public Economics at the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods, University of Milan, and is a leading expert in the evaluation of EU policies, programmes, and projects.

He has been involved in several assignments for the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank, the OECD, the World Bank, and CERN, among others. His main research interests are in applied welfare economics, cost-benefit analysis, industrial and regional policies, infrastructure and growth, and economics of science. His latest publication is the book Investing in Science: Social Cost-Benefit Analysis of Research Infrastructures, published by the MIT Press (2019).
